End of Summer? Sure — But with New Voices & Events!

Unspoken Voices Late Summer 2019 Events *** UPDATED INFO ***

by Addie Bona, Unspoken Voices Contributor

Summer is coming to an end and Fall is just beginning! Unspoken Voices had an eventful Summer putting on our Clothing ≠ Consent event, fundraising, attending conferences and tabling at Twin Cities Pride. We have a lot planned for this fall and there are two events coming up that we are really excited about.

The first is Rochester Pride. This is the first year that Rochester is having a city-wide Pride and we are thrilled to be a part of it. It is happening on Saturday, September 28th from 12pm to 4pm in Mayo Park. Unspoken Voices will tabling all day as well as performing a few skits. If you are in the Rochester area, come on out for a fun, eventful day—we would love to see you.

The following weekend, the City of Minneapolis is hosting Slutwalk (official Facebook page). The event will be held on Saturday, October 5th in Father Hennepin Park. More details to come at a later time. Last year at Slutwalk, we featured our Fragmentary: A Mosaic Project and invited participants to help us create our mosaics. This year, we are bringing back the completed mosaics for everyone to see.

We have had a great time finishing this project and look forward to continuing to share it. We look forward to seeing you there!

*** UPDATE ****

Saturday October 5th, Unspoken Voices will be at Slut Walk, Twin Cities! This event will be held from 1pm to 5:30pm at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park in Minneapolis. Last year we hosted our healing event Fragmentary: A Mosaic Project at Slut walk and this year we will be bringing the final Mosaics to Slut walk! Come see this incredible piece in person and hear about how we came up with the idea, what it was like to organize and see the event take place, and meet our volunteers!

More information about the event can be found on the Slut Walk Facebook page by following this link: https://www.facebook.com/events/729006804193708/?__mref=mb
